High temperature superconducting (HTS) filter has superior performance than that of conventional filter and it has small passband insertion loss, narrow transition band and high o ut-of-band rejection, H TS f ilter is a high technology breakthrough the limits of traditional m icrowave devices. It can be widely u sed in m obile communications, military communications, satellite communications and other fields. The systems’s sensitivity and anti-jamming performance would be im proved greatly. The HTS f ilter to be used in m obile co mmunication base station c an reduce the transmit power , saving bandwidth resources, incre ase th e cove rage area of base station, improve the quality of communication.This paper studies the process of designing of HTS filters. Chebyshev type and quasi-elliptic type HTS f ilters are introduced first ,and then pascal filter prototype parameters are used to design HTS f ilters for the f irst time. The new resonator s are proposed to design HTS filter, they have many advantages and can reduce the cost of HTS filter and save the area of HTS film.It is dif ficult to design low frequency and narrowband HTS filter, a 12 order chebyshev type HTS filter and 4 order quasi-elliptic type HTS filter were designed in this pap er. A 10 order Pascal type HTS fi lter is designed. All of them were simulated by the software of SONNET . A s olid foundation for designing high performance HTS filter in the future is laid.
