With the development of information technology, diversified guidance system can just satisfy the requirement of future war, and also play an important role in improving the efficiency of guidance weapon. This paper introduces directional information modulation technology, which can be used to transmit microwave carrying directional information. So the integrated system of communication and direction-finding can be realized by using digital modulation theory. Then the signal carrying directional information applied to guidance and detection is deeply studied. The main contents are as follows:1. Combining the principle of MSK and directional information modulation technology, a signal with dual-beam carrying directional information is proposed. The principle of modulation and demodulation is illustrated in detail. By the simulation, we know the characteristics of the dual-beam signal are similar to those of MSK. And the signal is carrying the directional information, so it has potential ability of direction-finding.2. According to guidance and detection system, a new guidance scheme is proposed. The scheme is using a signal with multiple beams carrying directional information as a guidance signal, which is transmitted by a sparse array with eight elements from the ground or different platforms, utilizing the spatial characteristics of the sparse array to transmit the directional information. The array is stimulated one by one by the signal from different sub-carries. This paper also presents how to design the time-domain modulation matrix and information matrix, then the signal’s power spectral density is given.3. Subsequently, the paper presents how to develop the algorithm of information demodulation and beam parameter estimation. And meanwhile we design an algorithm about how to use the reflected signal from the target to estimate the target parameter. The direct signal and reflected signal are separated from the received signal. Then they are used to determine the position of the missile and the target. The direction-finding performance is also investigated to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the signal.
