The body image positive or not is one of the important sign of mental health. The study, in recent years, is more and more focus on mass media’s influence on body image. As a medium, animation may play a subtle role to the formation of students’body image in middle school. This conjecture is still stay in theoretical thinking. In order to verify whether there is a relationship between body image and animation liking in middle school students. We using the literature, interview, questionnaire, mathematical statistics method in this study.First, preparing the animation liking questionnaire about middle school students. After collecting the literature, designing dimension, we write the questionnaire items. Then solicit the opinions and recommendations to modify the questionnaire with instructors and the same professional graduates. Determining the questionnaire items to form the preliminary survey questionnaire. And testing the questionnaire’s reliability and validity. Exploratory factor analysis of the survey results show that:it extracted three factors, and its characteristic values were4.703,3.148,2.201. The contribution rate was26.162%,17.489%,12.227%, its cumulative contribution rate are55.842%. Then naming the factors. By using confirmatory factor analysis to test which obtained the value of χ2/df=2.807, CFI=0.908, RMSEA=0.071. It shows that the questionnaire has good reliability and validity.Secondly, By using the middle school students’animation liking questionnaire, body image scale investigate the500students in three school, in order to know whether there is a close correlation between animation liking and body image, by using correlation analysis and regression analysis. It based on surveying the status quo about middle school students’animation liking and body image. The conclusions of this study are:(1) Middle school students’animation liking questionnaire consisted of three dimensions, which named the level of commitment, favorite elements and favorite reason. The questionnaire has good reliability and validity, can be used as measurement tools to test secondary school students animation liking.(2) There are84.2%students are favorite anime. Its dimension of the level of commitment was a significant difference in terms of gender. Boys take more time in anime than girls; Affected by gender identity differences, boy and girl select the type of anime are different.(3) About50.4%students’body image slightly lower than the general level. There are half of the students are not satisfied with their body image. The satisfaction of boys evaluate their own appearance was significantly higher than girls; girls significantly higher than boys on appearance concerns and obesity concerns dimension. The14-year-old students’level of appearance concerned and body image compared are lower than other age, and17years of age students are the most satisfied person. Different level BMI of boys is significant different in obesity dimensions; to girls, not only overweight showed obesity anxiety, but also the performance of the normal group. Appearance evaluation, the girl’s lighter group and the normal group’s evaluation higher than the overweight, there was a significant difference between the lighter groups with overweight; Overweight group’s appearance concerns were significantly different lighter and normal groups, overweight girls more concerned about their appearance than the other two groups.(4) Middle school students’ animation liking significantly associated with body image. anime involvement were negatively predicted body image to a certain extent; favorite elements can be predicted to some extent on the forward body image; animation liking can to a certain extent forecast appearance concern negatively, favorite elements predict the appearance of concern. To some extent are positive.
