Reading teaching is not only an important part of Chinese teaching, it is also thedifficult point in Chinese teaching. So the experts and scholars usually focus on it. Thenature of the reading teaching is defined as “a procedure between students, teachers,the writers and the text”.After that, dialogic reading is preferred by Chinese teachers.The writer has found that the dialogue in varied forms of the class is beneficial to thethinking and improve the quality of reading of the students in the practice of theChinese reading teaching in middle school. And the topic is the key factor fordialogue teaching. So, the writer has paid attention to study and practice in topic.Combining the educational theory in order to improve the effectiveness of readingteaching.The paper consists of four sections, five chapters. The first part is introduction. Itmainly expounds the cause of the research and the methods. On the basis of theresearch on the scholars and the teachers, the writer can find out the newbreakthrough point of the topic. And make the study has certain innovation. Thesecond part is theory research. From the angle of the development history of Chinesecurriculum and combine the discussion of the Chinese and foreign educators, we candefine the concept of“the topic”and“the topic design”,clarify the characteristic,function and effect of the topic, set out the characteristic of the topic design, analysethe problems that often appear in the topic and distinguish the forms of the topicdesign. The third part is case analysis. By analyzing the classic example of the superteacher Menglong Qian and Yingchao Yu, combing and thinking according to thetopic content and the characteristic, summarize the basic method of good topicdesign. The fourth part is practices and reflection. The writer combined the theoryresearch with Junior middle school Chinese reading teaching practice. Throughreflecting the practice cases of the topic design, to achieve the purposes of raisingthe quality of students’ thinking in reading teaching.The paper’s innovation is in the following three aspects: firstly, we can definethe concept of “the topic” and “the topic design” from the angle of the development history of Chinese curriculum and combine the discussion of the Chinese and foreigneducators. Secondly, we summarize the characteristics of the topic and the topicdesign on the basic of analyzing the difference between topics and problems. Thirdly,we list lots of practice cases especially the case about topic design in Chinese readingteaching by the writer through using the method of linking theory with practice, thatis practical.
