| As experiment is the basis of chemical science, it is the most basicmethod of Chemical Teaching and chemical research. And even the basic wayof testing the chemical theory and chemical hypothesis is also experimental.But in the actual teaching process, due to the impact of theexamination-oriented education and various kinds of limited conditions,students in high school generally tend to learn chemistry just by the way ofexplanations in the book and they will not pay much attention to thechemistry experiments. So the educational function of the chemicalexperiment is not play very well. Although the new chemistry curriculumreform which is currently in progress, has put great emphasis on chemicalexperimental teaching and clearly pointed out the target of cultivatingstudents`spirit of innovation and practical ability and improving the scientificliteracy of students so that make the chemistry experiment teaching couldimprove to some extent, there are still some problems are existing in thechemistry experiment teaching.Under this background, this study conducted a survey to the currentsituation of chemistry experiment teaching in ethnic middle school throughquestionnaires and interviews and, in this paper, the author mentioned themain problems of current chemistry experiment teaching in ethnic middleschool. Besides, this paper analyzed the existing problems in the experimentalteaching and conducted the conclusion with the base of subjective educationtheory and constructivist learning theory as theoretical framework.The introduction part of the article discusses the research background andstates the important status and role of chemistry experiments in high schoolchemistry teaching as well as the purpose and significance of the research. Italso gives a brief introduction of the main research methods relates to this paper.The second chapter is the background of the entire study. On the basisof the conducting literature research in the current status of chemistryexperiment teaching at home and abroad, the author analyzed the currentresearch situation of chemistry experiment teaching in our country. And bycombing with chemistry experiment teaching abroad, this paper points out theshortcomings of the current school chemistry experiment teaching in ourcountry. At the same time, it also emphasizes that strengthening the teachingof chemical inquiry experiment is the whole trend of reform of currentchemical experiment teaching research, which is departing from the currentresearch on the chemistry experiment teaching. It also summarizes the newtheory as to education and teaching which are related to the current chemicalexperimental teaching, and take them as theoretical guidance of this research.The third chapter is about the research, namely, the main part of thispaper. In order to understand the current situation of chemistry experimentteaching in ethnic middle school in the western counties of XilinGol Leaguesince the implementation of the new curriculum reform, the author conductedthe questionnaire investigation in chemistry experiment teaching status inthree national high schools in counties of Zhengxiangbaiqi, Zhenglanqi andXianghuangqi. The author did interviews with some part of the teachers andstudents in high school and discussed and analyzed some problems andinadequacies which occur in the survey process. The investigation mainlyincludes the attitude of the experiment, the tendency of students`way ofdoing experiment, students’ experimental implementation, completion of labreport and as well as their experimental assessment methods. Judging fromthe results of the survey, although the experimental teaching situation is stillnot optimistic since the implementation of new curriculum reform in thisregion, it has been greatly improved and the phenomenon of teachingexperiments in classroom has been relatively rare. And the experimentteaching through demonstration has become the most important feature of theexperimental teaching. Chapter IV is conclusion. It is the summary and reflection of the full textof the study, and the conclusions of the study. As for the current method ofteaching demonstration experiment, it is pointed out that make studentsparticipate in the demonstration experiment. It not only enhances the students`hands-on opportunities and improves the students’ ability to do experiment,but also saves the teaching time of the teachers. For the current evaluationmethod, it is suggested that the use of written tests should be rational andshould strengthen the role of learning portfolios in the evaluation. As forstudents who want to continue to learn chemistry or some other majors whichare related to chemistry, the idea of practical experimental examinationshould be increased. And improving the effectiveness of classroom teachingexperiment is also important. However, the author does not think students juststay in the classroom for discussion on what should be done, but workinghard on extra-curricular time is also important. There are two things as for thekey to solve the problems of chemical experimental teaching; first is to seizethe flexibility of the class. We cannot rely solely on45minutes to solve allthe problems and it should be regularly extended to the extra-curricular. Ofcourse it is not referring almost over time; second is to do scientific andrational class planning.In the final part of this paper, it expresses the prospects of the issueswhich need to be continually explored and also points out the limitations andshortcomings of this paper. |
