A Case Study On Social Work Intervenes In Social Rehabilitation Of The Disabled Elderly

Persons with disabilities as vulnerable groups of society has been widespreadconcern in society in recent years. but as people with disabilities among special groups-older persons with disabilities, often is socially neglected. Rehabilitation of elderly peoplewith disabilities is not just the physical and psychological rehabilitation and the socialrehabilitation for the elderly people with disability is very necessary. To help solve thedifficulties and problems that hinder them to achieve social rehabilitation for the elderlywith disabilities to achieve social rehabilitation of individuals has an importantsignificance on families and society. Seven disabled elderly of Good Love home inSuzhou X Community are cases in my paper.through the observations and interviews forthem,I can analyze the a range of issues of obstacles to achieve social rehabilitation, andthen through the three parts of establishment of relations, the implementation of theintervention, evaluation, and closed,making use of casework and group work of socialwork to intervene in the issue to help the elderly with disabilities to achieve socialrehabilitation. This article highlights the advantages and potential of older persons withdisabilities to change themselves, their families and communities, so that they establishconfidence in life to achieve social rehabilitation.
