Research On The Civic Engagement In Social Work Service Agency In The Civil Society

Along with our country in the process of urbanization and modern development, the folk social work service agencies have now become the city community construction, actively explore and adapt to the need of a new type of community development. Rapid development in recent years, the folk social work service agencies, in Jinan J institutions, for example, some of these folk agencies are through the way of government purchase services, relying on the community to carry out a new type of social services. The development of the folk agency needs lots of social supports; and civic engagement is the key link of these supports. This study will focus on the theme of the civic engagement in the folk social work services agency. It describes the civic engagement in the process of agency development and explains the civic engagement in specific situation. Therefore, the research questions of this study can be summarized as: Is there any civic engagement in the development of non-governmental organizations? How are they engaging in it, such as the level, pattern and feature? Why? This study based on the analysis framework of social capital theory, using the method of depth interview. The conclusions are as follows:Firstly, most community residents held little cognitive for civic engagement; Secondly, the occasionally and non-phenomenon civic engagement present a highly characteristic of "inner/potential engagement "; Thirdly, there is a developing process from passive to active in the current frequent cases of civic engagement.
