STS is short for Science,Technology and Society. It’s a comprehensive subjectinvoling lots of subjects in many fields.Technology is the first productivity. Thedevelopment of technology has promoted the progress of our society, while it alsothreatens our lives. People begin to calm down to think about the relationship betweenscience and society. STS emerges against such a backdrop. STS is a branch in thefield of STS, referring to combination between the knowledge in textbook andscience, technology and society and focusing on improving the quality of students anddeveloping their sense of social responsibility. At Senior high school, to infiltrate STSeducation in all subjects is not only the requrrements of new curriculum standard butalso an improtant aspect in teaching reform and qulity-orierted education. This article analyzes the necessity and significance of this top with. Starting fromthe new curriculum theory, construct ivism theory and multiple intelligence theory, itdiscusses the basic theory of STS education in Physics Teaching in the middle school.Only by building a new view of knowledge, curriculum and teaching, building aspecific classroom teaching model, new teaching relationships and evaluation systemcan we guarantee the successful implementation of STS education.According toeletromagnetics in Middle school it illustrates the specific requirements of newcurriculum, analyzes the psychological characterisitics of Middle school studentsincluding their cognitive and individual characerisitics and find out the obstacles inthoughs in their physics study. help overcome the problems in study by infiltratingSTS education in physics teaching. It analyzes several moduls in the textbook, like theintroduction to scientific history and scientists, the development of science, worldview and values, discoveries in scientific metheds and the practical application insocial problems. It lists the specific content with STS education in electromagnetics in detail. Finally, according to the analysis above, there’re three ways of infiltrating STSeducation: classroom teaching, activities and social practice. This article emphasizes the practical research in physics teaching. This chapterfirst shows the questionnaire, surveyed among the students in the author’sclass.According to the defailed analysis of the results, the author gets to know thecurrent situation of STS education in Middle school. The author thinks it is importantto set the background and content of STS education reasonably. So through teaching, itdescribes in detail the features and principles of the STS education. Next, withspecific class examples, the author carries out another questionnaire survey among thestudents and analyzes and summaries it according to the result. Finally, the authordraws the preliminary conclusion and thinks over the implementation of STSeducation in the future. In the article, the author refers to a large amount of relatedmaterial about STS education, using a variety of methods, like literature review, questionnaire survey and narrative research. The innovation of this passage is thecombination of electromagnetics in middle school and the research and practice ofinfiltrating STS education in teaching. The article focuses on reasonable setting ofSTS education and explores three ways of infiltrating STS education in teaching, thatis, classroom, activities and social practice. The author hopes to attract the attention ofschools and colleagues to STS education.
