| English class, its major purpose is using language for communication,advocating experience, practice, participation, cooperation, and task-oriented teachingways, developing students’ language ability, making the process of language learning.It can form students’ positive emotional attitude, active thinking and daring practice,and it can improve cross-cultural consciousness and form process of autonomouslearning ability.English Curriculum Standard also makes new rules about English curriculumtarget in basis education stage. It points out that we must stimulate and cultivatestudents’ interesting to English, set up students’ confidence, develop their goodlearning habit, help them form effective learning strategy, cultivate their autonomouslearning and cooperative vitality. According to that, the autonomous-cooperativelearning model was brought in.The autonomous-cooperative learning model aims at promoting students’English ability, cooperative ability through group work.It demands that Englishteachers’ teaching methods must promote students’ learning English way, arousestudents’ interesting, encourage students to make up English perceive structure.The purpose of this paper is that through the practice of junior Englishautonomous-cooperative learning, we can sum up effective teaching strategy, changeto over pay attention to explain the grammar and vocabulary in English class, butignore to cultivate students using ability. It carries out teaching from students’interesting. Every teaching step of the teaching model provides many opportunitiesfor students to using language, and changes the teaching from explaining and teachinglanguage knowledge into developing language ability. It contributes to theimprovement of students’ comprehensive qualities.On the basis of stating theoretical knowledge, the thesis analyses the currentsituation of our English teaching, introduces the operational programs ofautonomous-cooperative learning. The emphasis is in three aspects: the inquiry learning of carrier, the autonomous-cooperative learning classroom model, andautonomous-cooperative learning classroom assessment.The writer does a year teaching experiment in her school: Class5of Grade1isexperimented class, which is taught with the autonomous-cooperative learning model,while Class6of Grade1is contrasted class, which is taught in the traditional ways.The paper also contrasts and analyzes the results of the experiment. The results arethat the average achievement of Class5is apparently over than that of Class6, whichshows that the autonomous-cooperative learning model can arouse the students’English interest, it more contributes to improving students’ English ability thantraditional teaching model. In the meantime, questionnaires are used, to monitor theresults and procedures of the experiment.Through the analysis above, the paper concludes that theautonomous-cooperative learning model can help students to master the languageknowledge. It can improve teachers and students’ relations, and it can build thestudents’ consciousness of cooperation with others. It also can make the teaching andstudying more effective, and improve students’ grades. So it’s necessary to employthe model in English classroom of junior schools. In a word, theautonomous-cooperative learning model is well worth using and studying by Englishteachers. |
