Sampling survey include a variety of error，this article willsurvey to the total error as the research object.Based on the Lessler’smodel put forward by combining with the general steps of theinvestigation on the composition of total error classification according tothe survey steps,and carries on the analysis and processing, the total errorof calculated further attempt, and a calculation is made for an error of theresults.At first this paper introduces the survey of the general steps, andanalyzed in detail each step may produce errors, detailed analysis of thesample selection, field investigation and data processing error of thephase composition, and get the corresponding formula of error, finally getthe total error function.Then using the total error model for the statistics of college in2012of the education problems in summer for WeiYuanXian San Nongproblem about students answer part of the total error analysis. Errorgenerated in each phase are calculated respectively, compares error sizeof each part in different stages of the analysis of the causes of error, findout the main factors affecting the investigation, survey experience, to be prepared for the next time you do similar research work.Finally summarized in improving the total error model and exampleanalysis of the problems and difficulties, and the advantages of theimproved model is proposed to reduce the total error of experience andadvice.
