Vigorouslypromoting the popularization of shadowboxing, which has a profoundpractical significance for the revitalization of the national spirit, carryingforward the national culture, building up people’s health and improving thewhole nation’s physical and mental quality.The general colleges and universities provide a good base for shadowboxingdevelopment, also play a decisive role in the national traditional culturecommunication and development. The general colleges and universities ofour country mainly teach24simplified shadowboxing, Taijisfan, andTaijisword at present, the teaching contents’ setting of shadowboxing directly affects the students’ enthusiasm and positivity, also has a directimpact on the teaching effect and teaching quality of martial arts. Throughthe founding about teaching process of survey in recent years, studentsshowed a high positivity in first learning shadowboxing, but gradually lostinterest of shadowboxing course’s contents after a period of learning time,also have no enthusiasm for learning. After understanding the reason,because shadowboxing course’s contents greatly differ from their desiredlearning contents, which is not their ideal to learn, what’s more, a lot ofstudents have relatively poor coordination of body, can not take a right placeto do the actions, so they appear weary mentality after the more learning,and also can not comprehend the charm and the fitness value ofshadowboxing.This paper uses the methods of literature consultation, interviewing,questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics and other research methods, tomake a investigation for the development status of shadowboxing course onseveral Hohhot colleges, it researches the teaching contents, organizationform, teaching method, teachers status of shadowboxing course, then to findout the deficiencies and the best method for improvement, also look for theacceptant shadowboxing course for the general colleges and universities,striving to make this excellent Chinese boxing have generalizationpopularization and carrying forward promotion in the general colleges anduniversities, it plays an auxo-action to enhance our country university students’ physical and mental quality, and makes a solid foundation forstudents when going to work in future.This paper brings the conclusions as follows:1Martial arts course has also been a certain degree of development andpopularization at the present stage in several Hohhot universities, but did notget enough attentions; university students are not having the satisfactoryunderstanding of shadowboxing, only accounted for15.9%to do.2The professional level of teaching shadowboxing teachers are not havingthe same lore in the general colleges and universities of Hohhot,professional martial arts teachers are less and less, and the highestproportion only accounted for14.3%.3Hohhot has77.7%colleges reach to the teaching hours that fulfill theneeds of students’ learning shadowboxing, but60%colleges still have nospecialized facilities as for the site of shadowboxing course.According to the actual situation to propose suggestions as follows:1Let the school leadership pay more attention to shadowboxing course, anduse modern communication tools to arouse students’ learning interest, toencourage students to take non-stop practicing, also holding theshadowboxing shows and competitions.2Strengthen the training of teachers in colleges and universities, regularlysend teachers to attend training, then to ensure the teaching quality ofshadowboxing course. 3Increase the class hours of learning shadowboxing theory, so that studentscan fully understand the spirit of shadowboxing, and add the rich andcolorful teaching contents and means, also intersperse with moral education,and draw into faddish fashion elements to compose skilled movement.4Colleges and universities should increase the putting strength of hardwarefacilities for shadowboxing course, and build the specialized place forshadowboxing practice to make the students are in a favorable learningenvironment and atmosphere to feel the charm existence of shadowboxing.
