| With the increasingly deepen the popularization of higher education in the present age, the quality of higher education is drew much social concern. To ensure the teaching quality of higher education, China has consistently carried out undergraduate teaching level evaluation in general colleges and universities for five years since 2003.China planed to spend about five years in conducting a comprehensive evaluation on all Chinese general colleges and universities teaching operation. The evaluation of higher education is a significant means of monitoring the quality of cultivating talents and promoting the scientific and standard management also is a major area in higher education research. After all, the evaluation of higher education in China got a late start. The construction of higher education assessment system is still in the exploratory phase up to now. Therefore, there are many discontented phenomenon in the actual implementing process of evaluation of undergraduate teaching work level in general colleges and universities. This paper was written in a style of posing, analyzing and resolving matter. The paper put forward some measures in finding a way out of the problems on the basis of analyzing the existing problems in the evaluation of undergraduate teaching work level in general colleges and universities and consulting and following the experiences and lessons of foreign advanced countries, so that to strengthen the present evaluation system of undergraduate teaching work level in general higher colleges and universities.The paper is composed of introduction, main body and concluding remarks. The main body is divided into four chapters: chapter one introduces the basic condition of the evaluation of undergraduate teaching in Chinese general higher colleges and universities, the forming background and developing course of undergraduate teaching evaluation, and the purpose, meaning and index system of general higher colleges and universities teaching evaluation. Chapter two summarizes the problem in evaluation in locating target, coping with problems, analyzing corruption and rent-seeking power phenomenon and making the conclusion of evaluation, as well as points out the harm evolved from those problems and analyzes the far-reaching reasons for those problems brought about. Chapter three makes a brief introduction of undergraduate teaching evaluation condition in higher colleges and universities of U.S.A, and compares it with the evaluation of general colleges and universities teaching level in China, in the hope of carrying enlightenment and references to the evaluation of undergraduate teaching in Chinese general higher colleges and universities. Chapter four indicates several countermeasures to improve the evaluation of undergraduate teaching word in Chinese general colleges and universities. The measures include the elimination the negative influence of the evaluation, the strengthen of theory research and international exchange of evaluation, the definition of the position and function of government, society and colleges and universities, the actively establishment of medium organization which is relatively independent to government, the reinforcement of construction of evaluation mechanism, and the profoundly analysis of the feasibility of constructing medium evolutional organization .We hope the study of the article is helpful to consummate the evaluation system of undergraduate teaching work in China. |
