| In China, the trade union as the party’s bridges and bonds linking theParty with workers and staff members is an important social pillar of Statepower as well as the representative of the interests of staff. The universityunions as the organization maintaining the rights and interests of the massare prevalent. With the deepening of reform and opening up as well theprofound changes in the higher education and management system,universities have undergone significant changes as to the aspects of staffhiring, training, appointment, evaluation and management. A new topic themajority of universities are facing up is how to improve the work of tradeunion and create a new work model combined with actual condition toadapt to the current and future development and changes.This paper takes six regular undergraduate college’s trade unions inHohhot and their staff’s evaluation and feeling as the research object, itmakes an investigation and analysis about the current work situation ofthese universities trade union with the aim of explore the existing problems.Meanwhile the essence of humanistic management theory is applied to thetrade unions which give gull consideration to the fundamental interests ofthe staff. This paper starts from the reality of the majority of facultymember’s vital interests and makes a perfect combination between theinterests of the staff and school development, makes full use of unionorganization and their resources to build a new model of university unionwork which truly represent and safeguard the interest of the majority staffas well as enhance the work efficiency. Finally, it can provide a beneficialreference for the undergraduate universities in Hohhot region to improvethe quality and level of the trade unions.This paper firstly gives a brief description about the basic theory of trade union in colleges, two prosperities and four functions. Twoprosperities refer to the nature of class and masses, while four functionsmean the function of safeguarding, participation, construction andeducation. Combined with the characteristics of current development oftrade union in universities, it creatively puts forward the special orientationof trade union in China, a horizontal comparison is made for the Chineseand foreign education union. One aim is to highlight the college trade unionin China has its own characteristics based on the situation of our country.Another is to absorb the advantages and strengths of foreign educationunion with the aim that the future development of trade union in China canbe enlightened.According to the statistics data and information resulted from thequestionnaire and interview outline, the core part of this paper makes acomprehensive and in-depth analysis towards the management and presentsituation of six undergraduate universities, it affirmed the significantachievements of trade union, it also explicitly pointed out the existingproblems and shortcomings in the work of trade union.In the last part of this paper, the principle of humanism in managementis introduced which helps to make a countermeasure thinking about how tocarry out the trade union work in the new era and under the new situationwith the hope that it can provide a certain valuable reference for furtherstrengthen and improve the college union work in Hohhot region. |
