Coach is a manager for athlete’s training and competition activities and isresponsible for training excellent athletes for the honor of our country. As a significantrole in competitive sports,the educational skills of couch has a deep effect onimprovement of competitive sports.The coach must enhance his skills byself-learning,fulfilling his expert abilities and professional knowledge.The education forcoach is a kind of activity for coach’s education and training in order to enhance coach’sabilities to train and compete.The establishment of educational system for coaches is thebasement for their skill improvement such as athlete select,management for sporttraining and athletic competition.In this paper,we focus on guiding ideology,content,form and method of education for coaches in JiangSu province with the introduction ofmany methods,such as literature,questionary,expert interview, mathematical statistics.The main conclusions go as follows:1、Presently,among training coaches in JiangSu province are about6.7%under35years old,23.3%between36and45years old,46.7%between46and55years old and23.3%above56years old.For the sake of coaches’ educational experience, about6.7%couches work five years;36.6%coaches work between11and15years;50%coacheswork more than16years and6.7%coaches work below5years.For the educationallevel,about73.4%couches are Bachelor degree or above including6.7%postgraduateand66.7graduate.There is a reasonable distribution for coaches’ages,professionalranks,and educational level in JiangSu province.2、Investigation shows that training coaches comes from:retired athletes,about26.6,entering sport college to learn;graduate,about26.6,from Sports colleges andUniversities;retired athletes,about40%, recruited directly by sport university. Theyhave higher professional skills and knowledge on a whole,but they are weak in exercisetraining aids:only30%coaches use computer to teach;about60%coaches can’t speak english fluently;less than59.9%coaches publish three to six academic papers.3、About76.6%training coaches in JiangSu province have positive and practicaleducation motivation.The aims of education for coaches are as follows:To improvecomprehensive competence of competitive sports for coaches;To reinforce professionalknowledge and moral quality;To improve the comprehensive quality and professionalability of coaches.Education form mainly is on-the job training and supplemented bydaily training courses.The education recourses comes from teachers from highereducation system,famous training coaches at home and aboard,researchers andmanagers.4、 Three parts are included in education for coaches:basic theory,specialtheory,practice and management.About53.3%coaches feel satisfied with thiseducation.Assessment methods are define object writing and Open-book examination.5、Thinking of the variety of system construction,training ways,teaching materialupdate,and teaching methods, as well as the problem in the reform of exam methods,wemust built and perfect education policy and management and boost the reform ofeducational concept,method,form and content.we must establish training coacheducation collage to realize systematization and diversification for trainingcoaches’education.
