The Research On Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Disciplinary Construction In Gansu Colleges And Universities

The disciplinary construction is a basic work for colleges and universities, the core of each construction, and takes an important role in developing colleges and universities. Therefore, discipline is the cell of university, and the origin for university to survive and grow, which decides the direction and characteristics, quality and level, role and reputation of university. Gansu is located in the geometric center of China Land territory, and takes an important strategic role in the layout of national higher education. What about the development of colleges and universities in Gansu? The author thinks that disciplinary construction is one of the most important measurement indexes. The author combs the research on disciplinary construction, takes9universities and colleges with master’s award in Gansu as the subjects, and firstly makes a statistics about the current situation of the disciplinary construction in Gansu colleges and universities from six aspects:disciplinary structure, the construction of key labs, research institutes, and high-level talents, and disciplinary and ESI ranking. And then, the paper uses SWOT to deeply analyze the strength, weakness, opportunity, and threats about the disciplinary construction of Gansu colleges and universities, and finds that it has four strengths, five weakness, seven opportunity, and four threats. Finally, the paper proposes some suggestions for Gansu colleges and universities on how to strengthen the disciplinary construction:Making strategic plan is the guide and basis for disciplinary construction in Gansu universities and colleges, its foundation is to regulate structure and perfect the layout, its emphasis is to intensify the construction of characteristic and key disciplines, its core is to strengthen the construction of teachers, and its impetus is to promote the international school-running.
