Poem is the essence of Chinese culture. Modern poem, which began from the “May FourthLiterature Revolution”, is an important point in the history of poem. Modern poem is written inmodern Chinese, In accordance with Chinese language habits. Compared with the classicalpoem, modern poem has a freer paten, wider content, is easier to be accepted and created.Modern poem is favored by the young people since the very beginning, and reach its peak in the80s. However, there is less and less people reading or writing modern poem. Even in the middleschool, it’s neglected. Many students, if not most, learn modern poem just in order to get a highscore in the entrance examination. They don’t know any poems besides these in the text book.What’s make things worse is that, they just dull to understand the meaning of poems. Fewerstudents can read a poem, let along write one.By analysis the teaching situation of modern poem in the middle schools, this thesis figureout defeat in the poem teaching. Then, raise the targets; principles and tactics. This thesis can bedivided into4parts.Chapter1analyzed the research situation related to this thesis. This paper expounds thenecessity and feasibility of the research and writing of this paper. In order to cope with theexamination, modern poem was interpreted as the standardization of knowledge point, so that thestudents lost their interest of modern poem. Modern poem language concise, jumping, structure flexible, image has morediversity. Modern poem teaching is to impart knowledge, pay attention to ideological poem,reading a single method, ignoring students’ aesthetic subject status. In quality educationfunctions under the banner of, we must be analyzed from the status of modern poem teachingteachers, students and many other aspects.Chapter3defines the meaning of innovative capability, to demonstrate the modern poem teaching principles and cultivation of innovation ability cultivation from the objective,innovation ability etc. Innovation ability is established in the new or improved, reform theoriginal things reflected in the existing or potential ability. The development of students’innovation ability in modern poem teaching, cultivating students’ creative thinking in theteaching of modern poem.
