University teachers is a special group of people, and they charge with the important task oftalent cultivation for national construction and social development, and the important task ofknowledge innovation, but also are under pressures from the community, school, family,personal, and work and career development, and these pressures easily cause psychologicalproblems of university teachers. However, from the actual situation of our colleges anduniversities, there are few college to provide psychological assistance or services from theorganization level for university teachers, the majority of college teachers rely onself-management. Psychological counseling agencies in the college are also mostly for studentsat the school, and are rarely able to provide services for the university teachers. EmployeesAssistance Programs relate to the employee mental stress, mental health, personal development,and other aspects of the problem, it can effectively help to solve the problem of pressure,improve efficiency, and provide a more systematic and efficient management for the collegeorganization.In this paper, there are comparative analysis method, the survey method, case studies,literature studies and research methods. First of all, from the Employee Assistance Programtheory and stress management theory’ studies, this paper come out of the thinking of theEmployees Assistance Program’s application in College Teachers stress management. Secondly,through the analysis of a typical case of the Employees Assistance Program in University ofMissouri, and through the studies of the successful case of teachers psychological assistancecenters at Nanjing Qinhuai District, this paper finds the available experience for ChineseUniversities.Secondly, through the investigation of Shenyang Medical College, ShenyangEngineering College, Shenyang University three universities’ teacher occupational stress andstress management needs, this paper analyses the necessity and feasibility of the implementationof Employees Assistance Program in our colleges and universities,and the principles that ourcolleges and universities should follow. Finally, though the three phase of the preparation, theintroduction and implementation, the assessment, this paper designs the overall program tointroduce the Employees Assistance Program for our colleges and universities.
