In high school Chinese curriculum setup, novel is one of theimportant literary genre, its various characters and ups and downs ofthe plot was deeply loved by the masses of teachers and students. Butin the actual teaching process, the novel teaching situation is notsatisfactory. With all kinds of new literary theory research, the novelhas great changes have taken place in the forms of writing, the focusfrom the external to internal, from the reality into the psychological,from stable to discrete. Sue in the modern and contemporary novelsin Chinese textbooks for high school, is the embodiment of the change.Therefore, traditional novel teaching model has been unable to adaptto the change of the novel text, its rigid way of text reading needs tobe improved. Which is the existing novel teaching contents did notinspire students’ interest in reading fiction, produce correspondingaesthetic interest and aesthetic ability, and makes the student to themodeling of stereotypical teaching contents have tired of thepsychological reasons. In addition, because some teachers in novelteaching content set into a "myth", led to the dislocation of the novelteaching contents as a whole, generalization. We can not help but ask,novels should teach? How to teach? Due to "teach what" is more important than "how to teach", so in the teaching process, we onlyhave the novel teaching content determine first, to discuss theproblem of novels should be "how to teach".To this, two aspects of novel teaching contents were discussed inthis article. One is the classroom teaching system, teaching materialsystem. First of all, the contents of the current high school Chineseclassroom teaching innovation characteristics and the analysis ofexisting problems, and sums up the present situation of high schoolnovel teaching: novels "generalization" of teaching content,dislocation of the teaching content and the teaching content of thenovel style is old. Finally, withthe Angle of modern narrative on the classroom teaching system andteaching materials to help read rich perfect idea and practice system,on this basis, the study design in "blessing", for example, to prove thispoint of view.The innovation of this paper lies in that, through the analysis ofthe two system of classroom teaching and textbook, on the basis of discovery of the defects in the existing novel teaching contents andteaching knowledge, still need to add style through the introductionof narratology theory knowledge, beneficial discussion to novel formof expression, in order to cultivate students’ interest in reading fictionand appreciate the novel’s aesthetic ability, so as to realize the realliterary education.
