Being a special economic group in Chinese society. Individual businesses have resumed and developed during the process of reform and opening up, and have played a significant impact in promoting the prosperity of a market economy and maintaining social stability. Moreover, under the condition of socialist market economy, the individual businesses’business activities are closely related to the social capital. The social capital of the urban individual businesses combines the social capital and specific region, subject and its activities. It includes personal networks of social relationship, the participant condition of social organization and the social norm complied in business activities. It consists in their operating activities. However, it also has impact on the operating activities.Base on the social capital theory and study of urban individual businesses, this paper has summarized the concept and structure of the social capital of urban individual businesses through a great deal of document study. The concept and structure of the social capital of urban individual businesses is based on the personal networks of social relationship, the participant condition of social organization and the social norm complied in business activities. Take the urban individual businesses from Xinyang city of Henan province as research object. The researcher summarizes the data and comes up with the recently condition of urban individual businesses which contains the personal networks of social relationship, the participant condition of social organization and the social norm complied in business activities. This research has discovered some problems existing on the urban individual businesses’social capital though analyzing the data, such as the scant expansion of social capital scale, the narrow scale of social relationship network, the social organization failed to play the effective effectives and imperfect credit system of social norm. Based on these problems, this paper has come up with countermeasure to promote the effectiveness of urban individual businesses’ social capital through the business activities, which by the way of building the mutual support network, fostering the self-norm and actively guiding the ideas of urban individual businesses.
