A Study On Social Integration Of The Junkman

With the speeding up of urbanization, a large number of rural people flock to cities looking for new life.On the one hand, they have made the indelible contribution to the city’s modernization; On the other hand,they also put forward a new challenge for urban management system innovation.In the background of constructing harmonious and humanist society, social integration of floating population has caused attention of governments and experts widely.The junkman is a part of the mobile force, both common and special:Common is that they live in the city suffering from all kinds of test just like other floating population;Special is that they make great contribution to the city’s clean and sustainable development,but stay almost the bottom of the city.Their integration into the city is not optimistic than other floating population.which needs more long-lasting efforts in all respects.So in-depth study into the junkman’s integration not only embodies the humanistic care and social care, but also good for the harmonious development of urban and rural society.This study focuses on the junkman of Nanjing area.As a modern city,whose urbanization rate is as high as80%or more,Nanjing has attracted more than eight million floating people, and the junkman is a group which should not be ignored.The author use lots of means to collect statistics.such as interview method.observation method.literature research.and so on.Then the author analyze the statistics from four dimensions,including the junkman’s economic integration,social integration,cultural integration and psychological integration into Nanjing city in-depth.And on the basis, affecting factors are analyzed one after another.Based on the deeply analysis of25junkmen’s interview statistics, and the related social policy and laws and regulations, the results are as follows:First,the junkmen live in Nanjing but their heart does not belong to here,which embodies balance of payments structure simplification in economic integration,social limitations in social integration.rational adaptation in cultural integration and stranger feelings in psychological integration,Second,there are three levels of factors influencing the junkman’s integration mentioned in the article,including system, community, and individual level.From system level,without a city hukou, the junkman cannot enjoy the various benefits adhering to the household registration system;From community level, the old community management mode and the simple community participation mechanism affect their integration;And from personal Ievel,lack of human capital and social capital largely limits their city life experience and integration.Finally, the author also put forward some social work intervention strategies to solve the problems existing in the integration process from the advantage perspective.
