The CET-4and CET-6examination, ever since the first time which begin at the year of1987, have went through a journey for25years. In summary, the affect of this exam is undeniable:it fulfills the blank of domestic college English text for students, and on the other hand, it works as a criterion for those enterprises which want to bring in some new staff. However, as Hayek said:It is impossible to design a institution that could run without any problem. There are still many defect exist in the invigilation system of the CET exam. Especially in recent years, cheating in the exam has become a serious problem. Fortunately, authorities responded for these cheating in a short time. They started two revolutions to change the fact that cheating in the exam is existing and growing. Based on these two revolutions, the writer separate the CET exam for3phrases, and start investigating and analyzing.About researching measure, this essay mainly uses text researching and opening interview. Firstly, the writer used the text data to analyze the formal institutions of the CET exam. During the analyzing, the writer found some interesting phenomenon:why the examinees can not put bottles on the table? And why their erasers must not have any surface? These phenomena give the writer many spirits for the writing. To understand these phenomena, the writer found some teachers and students from different colleges, and have opening interviews with them. By interviewing the examiners and examinees in the CET examination, the writer understands many informal institutions in the CET exam.Most informal institutions go against the formal institutions, but it has a logic and legitimacy itself. The writer found the logic and used it to explain the formal and informal institutions in the CET exam. Moreover, the writer studied on the path dependence and deinstitutionalize factors in the CET institutions. Finally, the writer discussed the legitimacy matters in the CET institutions. Formal institutions and informal institutions are on the two opposite sides. The informal institutions yield and grow on incomplete formal institutions, and force the formal institutions to become more complete. Path dependence, deinstitutionalize and legitimacy are core problems in the new institutionalism in organizational sociology. The writer tries to use these concepts to analyze the revolution of the CET examination institutions.
