Research On The Relationship Among Police’s Work-family Conflict, Coping Strategy And Marriage Quality

With the acceleration of social transformation, the public security environment is becoming more complex, and the policemen’s taskes also are facing larger challenges than before. The policemen’s work family conflict issues, not only relates to the individual happiness of the family, but also to the stability of the state and society. The main purpose of the present study was to examine the influence of coping strategy on policemen’s work family conflict and marriage quality.Based on the literature, the study revise the work family conflict scale for chinese police background, then investigated215polices in Shengzheng. The data analysis shows that:(1) Coping strategy (including family strategy and work strategy) has different impact on work-family conflict (including work-interference-family WIF, and family-interference-work FIW):families due diligence strategy, family authorization strategy had positive correlations with FIW, work perfect strategy has positive correlations with WIF, work due diligence, work merit and work authorization strategy had positive correlations with FIW.(2) WIF has negative correlations with family cohesion, and FIW has negative correlations with family harmony, marital satisfaction and couples emotional expression.(3) Work-family conflict partially mediated the relationship between coping strategy and marriage quality. Based on these conclusions, several proposals were given.At last, the study brought up some suggestions for polices management to enhance the police’s life wellbing.
