The21stcentury is an informational era, which characterized by the innovationand application of knowledge, in the face of the challenges of the information societydevelopment, many countries have carried out education informational constructionand the theory and practice of ICT (Information and communication Technology)assisted teaching, to open up a new path for the diversification of teaching methods,innovative ways of teaching and realistic teaching situation. Early childhoodeducation, as the foundation stage of the whole education system, is the starting pointfor information technology education. In recent years, China has introduced ICT intothe kindergarten, but there are still many inevitable problems. Stones from other hillsmay serve to polish jade. The United States is one of the earliest countries to startedICT assisted teaching. Understanding and analyzing the research and practice of ICTassisted kindergarten teaching in the United States has major implications for ourcountry, which could help us develop the vision and thinking, to avoid weaknessesand detours.Literature study, comparative analysis and case analysis were adopted tointroduce the theory and practice of the informative technology development in earlychildhood education in American, and summarizd the characteristics of ICT assistedkindergarten teaching in American, in order to prepare a reference.This thesis consists the following four parts:Part Ⅰ, This paper presents the U.S. National education technology policy; theidea of ICT assisted kindergarten teaching, in order to have a complete description ofthe theoretical basis of ICT assisted kindergarten teaching in the U.S.Part Ⅱ, This paper further described ICT assist specific curriculum teaching,such as mathematics, language and literacy, the arts, social and emotional areas.Part Ⅲ, Base on the theory and practice initiatives of ICT assisted earlychildhood education in the U.S, this paper further analyze the characteristics of ICTassisted kindergarten teaching, mainly:1.the development of appropriate concepts;2.areasonable choice for teaching mode;3. and scaffolding instruction for primaryteaching methods;4. ample hardware and software and teaching resources;5.concern with the children in special need,Part Ⅳ, Drawing on American experience, in view of the the current status of ourcountry informatization of early childhood education, this paper point out somesuggestions:1. Increase capital investment, to speed up the process of information;2.Focuse on the equity of education, narrows the digital divide;3. Developmenteducational software, rich resourcess construction;4. Establish a correct concept,selectthe appropriate resources;5. Create interactive scenarios,Optimize the teachingprocess.
