Chemistry is one of the key subjects in Compulsory education phase and is also a kind ofsubjects based on experiment. However, there are some difficulties which block student’sstudy in the actual learning process, such as some experiments with inflammable andexplosive; some experimental phenomenon is not obvious and less visible; some experimentsrequire students to explore the phenomenon such as repeatedly. Online learning due to itsnetwork and virtualization can provides an effective learning platform to the study of thechemistry experiment. With rapid development of the computer technology and continuousupdate of the education concept, Online learning more and more get the favor of people. Thebasic characteristic of online learning is the separation of teachers and students in space andtime, and the learning process is conducted completely by the help of the network. Facing thevast multitude of learning resources the researching focus of online learning is how to let thestudent not blind, not follow the crowd, not deviate from the center of the study and have apurpose when they are self-directed learning. Problem-driven learning can let the student clearthe learning goals learn and think with a problem. But at present, people’s understandingsabout Problem-driven learning are still relatively simple. They think that Problem-drivenlearning is teachers’ questions in classroom teaching, and the choice of the problem is random,no purpose and planning.On the basis of above-mentioned, this paper chooses the research of design andapplication of chemistry problem-driven learning system in junior middle school. This paperanalyzes the features and advantages of the problem-driven learning, introducesproblem-driven learning at home and abroad development, analysis and studies thecharacteristics of the school chemistry experiment on the subject. At the same time, accordingto the subject characteristics of high school chemistry experiment, combination of individuallearning characteristics of students, self-directed learning as the center, proposes the model ofproblem-driven learning. From the development of the situation in China’s education needsand problem-driven learning advantages, combining the characteristics of problem-drivenlearning and constructivism and other related learning theory, design a problem-drivenlearning system applied to school chemistry experiment. By extensive literature read andcomparing reference the predecessors’ system, this paper conducts systematic analysis of highschool chemistry experiment problem-driven learning system, determines system architecture,clears system function and divides various functional modules.
