Information Literacy has been fundamental to graduate students.Internet searchingare key to research works nowadays because more and more valuable information can befound only online. Researchers have done a lot of work on helping graduates improvingtheir level of information literacy. However, the traditional school literacy courses canhardly meet the needs of different individual graduate. The graduates are different at startlevels of information literacy, majors and personal preferences. To solve this problem,this paper will introduce “The Long Tail” in economic.“The Long Tail” is aphenomenon discovered by the editor of 《Wireless》 magazine. It shows that moderncommunication and computer technologies have been changing the way how peopleconsumption. The traditional popular products still sell but the total amount of the salesof unpopular products is equal and even bigger comparing to popular products sales.According to “long tail”,3elements are needed to create a “long tail market” which are“democratize production”,“democratize distribution”,“connect supply and demand”.This paper integrated the strategies of long tail and created an online platform in order toconnect supply (online resources about information literacy) and demand (graduate’scustomize needs); the design of functions and resources encourages the user’sparticipation to democratize production and by filtering and aggregating the data in theplatform to democratize distribution. The online platform integrated “information onlinetutorial”(using Educational Technology as an example) which refers to “Visual TrainingSuit” site of Education. The platform is created by Drupal within modules such as Views,PathAuto, Token etc.
