Present Situational And Analysis On Nation Traditional Sports In Jiangxi Province

This paper discusses present situation of national traditional sports in Jiangxi province from the perspectives of local residents and students by involving literature data, questionnaire, logical analysis and field survey. And the characteristics of present situation are obtained:1) the local residents and students knows little about national traditional sports;2) the category of national traditional sports is relatively little;3) the frequency of taking part in national traditional sports for the local residents and students is relatively low;4) the local authorities and organizations seldom preside activities about national traditional sports;5) most local residents and students are interested in national traditional sports.Besides the influence of western sports in recent centaury, the promotion of nationhood and national prestige in international society after China’s reforming and opening-up policy has promoted the national traditional sports. In recent years, the Chinese Party Central Committee pays special attention to ’inheriting of national culture and spirits’ and ’establishing the harmonious society’, which brings the development opportunity for national traditional sports. What’s more, the subject of national traditional sports has been authorized as a second discipline of sports science. In spite of these mentioned achievements, the development of national traditional sports in Jiangxi Province still needs the support from government, society, school and individuals:the government should reinforce the relevant administration, raise investment in the teaching of national traditional sports and put national traditional sports into assessment; the society should support, disseminate and preside more activities about national traditional sports; schools should play important role in enriching the dissemination and development of national traditional sports; individuals should pay attention to national traditional sports to promote its development effectively. All in all, all of us should get rid of to seek quick success and instant benefits to review national traditional sports, forming a healthy atmosphere and sustainable development.
