"Long-term goal, education-oriented", the nation’s sustainable development is inseparable from education, and vice versa. With the development of society and the requirement of the new curriculum reform, the survival condition of teachers is getting more and more people’s attention. The primary school teachers’ survival condition refers to the sum of various aspects in the particular social and historical background such as their survival atmosphere, personal ability, working load and returns, social status, economic treatment, physical and mental status, job burnout, professional development, career identity, and many other circumstances and conditions in order to maintain their own survival, assume education teaching responsibilities and pursuing career development.The main purpose of this study is to present the true living condition of the primary school teachers in Xian Ning, analysis the existing problems and reasons, and then give some recommendations. Therefore, under the background of our country’s current basic education curriculum reform and based on the existing study, the article explores the primary school teachers’ survival condition by consulting relevant documents and designing questionnaires. From the perspective of the psychology and sociology, the research views the primary school teachers’ survival condition by using the method of literature, questionnaire, interview and so on. Based on the investigation, the essay then makes a deep thought and analysis, and thus has certain significance both in theory and practical. The basic framework of this study is as follows:First of all, through the analysis of the concept of "primary school teachers", survival","people’s survival condition" and "teachers’ survival condition", we can have a deep understanding of the relevant conceptions of teachers’ survival conditions.In the second place, the paper shows us some problems of the current circumstance of the elementary school teachers in Xian Ning by analyzing their most fundamental and essential state of material life, professional development, spiritual life and so on.Thirdly, this essay makes a further analysis to the cause of the striking problems among the primary school teachers in Xian Ning, it mainly analyzes the reason of the phenomenon that the substitute teacher experienced and the teachers’ welfare, their working burden and social recognition are also included.Fourth, this article makes some suggestions to improving teachers’ survival condition. That is to say, we should step from focusing on teacher’s professional development to the care of their life, take people as the foremost and pay close attention to the achievement of their professional value. Then we should develop teachers’ self-awareness and cultivate the subject spirit of self-care. Besides, teachers’ working pressure should be relieved, and measures should be taken to enhance their ability of psychological adjustment; Furthermore, great attachments should be given to school’s culture construction, and we should take steps to improve the quality of teachers’ life, strengthen their professional training programs, and promote their professional quality, to name only a few.
