A Research On English Webassign Application In High-grade Of Primary School

Assignment is a continuation of teaching and it is an important part in learning process. English teaching needs to develop students’ language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing and the ability of using the language. How to help the students to consolidate what they learn in class and to strengthen their four language skills becomes the problem for English teachers.In recent years, webassign became a new way of assignment. In2009, Ciwong technology company of Shenzhen designed an interactive multimedia webassign system. My school became one of the first schools to use webassign in English subject. My school tried to apply it for the pupils from Grade Four to Six in order to improve their language skills.This thesis mainly uses the comparative research method, literature method, observation method and interview method. First, introduce the characteristics of webassign. Then, analyze the feasibility of webassign in primary school. Next, discuss the application of webassign in English dictation, listening, speaking and reading and evaluate the effects. This thesis also analyses the application problems, such as:the instability of students’ family Internet equipments affects the continuity of using webassign, students lack of effective supervision, students have different effects in oral training, the webassign system lacks of error analysis in English exercises, parents excessively depend on webassign and ignore their children. Finally, try to give some suggestions on webassign. The suggestions are on:finding out the appropriate ways of using webassign; cultivating pupils’ good habits of online, establishing the error analysis of exercises in webassign system, setting up a plan for the pupils to learn with the help of webassign in school. Hope this thesis can be used for reference for English teachers.
