| Postcolonialism thought is an academic school that has a global impact and rapid development in the transitional period of twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and it is a cultural critical theory and academic thought with a strong ideology color. At the beginning of this century, it is rapidly spread in China and becomes one of the major western social thoughts which have a significant impact on this country, especially on the patriotic education of contemporary college students. Therefore, how to implement patriotic education and guidance for such a special group becomes a valuable social issue.In view of the great impact of postcolonialism thoughts on college students, and the current situation of China’s patriotic education in colleges and universities, it is necessary to do series of studies with vast exploring research on patriotic education of college students so as to explore the methods to improve the patriotic education.This paper first introduces of the definition, origin, development and basic points of postcolonialism thoughts. Second, this paper presents the impact of postcolonialism thoughts on patriotic education of college students and analyzes reasons behind. Third, based on the analysis, this paper proposes an effective way of improving patriotic education of college students to help them have a better personal development.This paper is divided into four parts:Partl. An overview of postcolonialism thoughts;Part2. Firstly, give a brief summary of the circumstance of university education on patriotism; and then investigate the impact of postcolonialism thoughts on patriotic education of contemporary college students with the help of questionnaires and interviews.Part3. Analyze the main reasons for the investigation results.Part4. Propose a solution of improving Chinese patriotic education in colleges from four perspectives of theoretical education, media guide, environmental influence, and practical experience. |
