Under the direction of definite educational thoughts, teaching and learningtheories, structure of teaching is a steady structural style which is usually developed in acertain teaching process. It reflects teachers’ educational and theoretical modes directlyin arranging the teaching process and it is the main embodiment of educational thoughts,teaching and learning theories. Structure of teaching includes time structure, knowledgestructure, cognitive structure, information structure, activity structure between teachersand students, and structure related to some detailed class educational activities. Underthe available resources and conditions, rational and the most optimized classroomteaching structure may exert the effect to the most and it can ensure the high benefitsand efficiency so as to bring the optimum teaching effect.“Classroom structuraloptimization” is first raised by Banbarce, an educator of former Soviet Union. It meansthat teaching purpose should be the whole core. Teachers should combine all the relatedteaching factors (teachers, students, teaching conditions, purposes, means, methods,forms, evaluations and so on), then synthesize and interact so as to get the mostoptimized functions and results within the set time. With the new curriculum innovation,teaching will face important innovations inevitably in all the aspects. PE is the base ofphysical teaching. It cannot play its role to the most if physical teachers adoptunavailable classroom teaching structures and if they cannot understand and analyze thekey constructive elements. So, this paper focuses on the explanation of constructivefactors in PE teaching structure by means of literature reviews, expert interviews andexperiments. From the points of improving teaching effect, invigorating students’ healtheffectively, we conduct an investigation to the present situation about PE teachingstructure among ten regular institutions of higher learning in Dalian. PE classroomstructural optimization and its related basic principles are put forward. They are the newways of optimization and provide basis for PE teaching and innovation in colleges.
