Credit system is a key point in our high school curriculum reform. It is pointed outin High School Curriculum Plan issued by the Ministry of Education in April2003that“The curriculum should be composed of required and elective courses, and commentedby the credit.” With the emergence of the new curriculum reform, the credit system inhigh school becomes one of the important measures in China’s basic education reformas a teaching management system. The implementation of credit system bringsdynamics and new ideas to the development of high school education. It not only playsa significant role in the high school curriculum reform, but also innovate the teachingmanagement methods and operating mechanism. This paper will deal with the currentstatus of the credit system in high school, the problems existing in implication and whatshould be done to resolve them.This research is mainly divided into three parts. First part is the literature review.On the basis reading a large number of documents, it depicts the related concepts, policyand management system of high school credit system in-depth. Second, an investigationis carried out in three ordinary high schools in Dalian with the self-editing questionnaireand individual interviews. The last part is the statistical analysis. A quantitative analysisto346effective questionnaire samples of students and8based interview samples ofteachers is conducted with the help of statistical software Excel.There are some main conclusions of the research. First, the recognization of thecredit system is limited and different among teachers and students. Second, the creditsystem implementation does not reach the designated position and the situations areuneven among the schools and teachers. Third, the evaluations on credit systemimplementation of teachers and students are different and the executions lack aguarantee from the institution.Finally, the paper proposed several suggestions to resolve the existing problems inhigh school credit system in Dalian, such as discarding the old educational conceptions,improving the recognization on credit system, reforming the university entrance exam system, strengthening teacher training, promoting the quality of teachers, improving themanagement of credit system implementation and so on.
