Student participation is not only an important part of the class-teaching, butalso a key factor which affects the students’ learning outcomes. At present, thephenomenon of neglecting the junior students’ status still exist in the traditionalgeography teaching in high school. Teachers believe that only full teaching enablestudents acquire more systematic and comprehensive knowledge considering that themiddle school students have no much time to complete the heavy learning task. In thisclass, students are tired in leaning as well as teachers are tired in teaching. Studentsare lack of the ability to face new situations or solve new problems. For this reason,the paper tries to explore the effective measures to improve the junior students inmiddle school to participate in geography class on the basis of the survey andresearch.Starting from the concept, and following the process of literature research, presentsituation investigation, reason analysis and countermeasures, this paper finallycomplete the research. This paper stresses on the dominant position of students. Itsolves the current problem of students who is not active in participate in theclass-teaching from three aspects such as the behavior participation, the cognitiveparticipation and emotional participation.This paper proposes strategies to improve the participation of the junior students inmiddle school in the geography class-teaching. It also proposes a model oftwo lessons teaching. This model of class-teaching fully mobilizes the students’ classteaching participation enthusiasm on the basis of full opportunity to participate in.This model focus on students’ deep thinking and the guide to emotional participation,thus it achieves the effective combination of subject status of the students and thedominant position of the teachers. These are the innovation of this paper.
