Ideological and political education occupies an important position in the moderneducation system. The cultivation of non-intellectual factors, which determines whether theuniversity students can get comprehensive development in higher education, is a priority ofuniversity ideological and political education. It can guarantee the success of ideological andpolitical education by strengthening cultivation of non-intellectual factors in the process ofideological and political education as well as putting the related theory of non-intellectualfactors into the practice of ideological and political education.Nowadays, with the rapid development of society, good ideological and politicaleducation has become vital force ensuring the economic production and life to develop in ahealthy and orderly way. It is particularly important to carry out ideological and politicaleducation among university students who are social elite of society. University studentsshould get all-round development in both intelligence and non-intelligence to becomequalified talents that the society needs. However, in the traditional ideological and politicaleducation, it tend to focus on the improvement of intelligence factors while ignored thecultivation of non-intelligence factors, which lead the ideological and political education cannot achieve the prospective effect.Non-intelligence factors do not directly participated in the cognitive activity of people;however, it plays a coordinating and guiding role in people’s cognitive activity. Based on thepsychology theory as the main theoretical basis, this article combines the factors of demand,motivation, interest, emotion, willpower and character with work practices in universityideological and political education. The combination can guide practice, meanwhile thepractice can examine the rationality of theory and improve the pertinence and effectiveness ofuniversity ideological and political education, so as to innovate ideological and politicaleducation as well as cultivate university students to develop in an all-around way.
