In the teaching process, the relationship between teachers and students is the mostfundamental relationship, as well as the most important one in universities, which is based onteachers’“teaching” and students’“learning”. With the promotion of democracy, equality,freedom, and harmony in college education, teacher-student relationship is becoming moreand more important. The relationship between teachers and students in the teaching process,which is the cornerstone of education function, aims to accomplish teaching tasks. In otherwords, the harmonious teacher-student relationship can promote the development of highereducation. Conversely, the disharmonious one will play a blocking role. Therefore, it ismeaningful to study the relationship between teachers and students. From the perspective ofethics, the paper analyses the disharmonious phenomenon and the teacher-studentrelationship in universities. Some preliminary discussions are conducted on the prevalentproblems in universities. Based on the understanding of the features of teacher-studentrelationship in universities, the paper discusses the problems in the teacher-studentrelationship, and analyses their causes and solutions from the perspectives of teacher, student,university and society.
