With the development of society and high-technology, studying becomes the onlymean for us to follow the times. To build innovate countries, the author wants to presentthe current situation of web-based autonomous learning of undergraduates by somemeans, including investigation, then find out the problems and give some suggestions.Through some people have already begun to research this question and give sometheories, all of them have some shortcomings, and should not be used to the internetenvironment.This article contains five parts. The first part is foreword, introducing thebackground, meanings, current research situations at home and abroad, and the methodsof this text. During the new times, the conditions in colleges make it convenient forweb-based autonomous learning, because the time after class is enough and theinformation technology developing rapaidly provides more information for studying.Then how to obtain and exploit the studying resources to improve the ability ofautonomous learning becomes more and more important.At the second section, after give some brief introductions of theories aboutautonomous learning, pointing out all of the theories confines autonomous learning fromdifferent sides and are unilatesal, the author suggests analyse the autonomous learningfrom two angles, which are endlong and crosswise. In addition, autonomous learning innetwork soundings challeges the traditional theories, embodied in studying resources,network lures, matertials, means of communication, and so on.At the third part, the author gives particular unscrambles of current situations of autonomous learning from different sides, including technology, environment, individualfactors and learning resources, by investigation and communication with the studentsinterviewed.Based on the research data of the third part, the forth section analysis problems ofweb-based autonomous learning, including: First, the time spends on it is quite short;Second, the possessiveness of students is at low level, and most of them could not resistlures on internet; Third, the reasons to make students study from outside is moreimportant than from inside; Forth, the communication between students shoulestrengthen; Fifth, most students do not make plans in autonomous learning.Based on the analysis before, the author gives some suggestions in the last part toimprove the conditions of web-based autonomous learning. As a student, you can takethe following measures, including: First, students should make long-term plans about lifeto ensure reasonable aims of web-based autonomous learning; Second, developingautonomy abilities and treating the relationship between study and entertainmentcorrectly; Third, stimulating the interests of study; Forth, keeping communication withothers and taking full advantage of high grade resources. Teachers can give someguidance of web-based autonomous learning, and strengthen the communication withstudents.
