With the acceleration of China’s economic development, the pace of life is accelerating, and the pressure from work and life is growing. The challenges faced by people in pursuit of the objectives are also much harder than before.When the pressure of the whole society reaching an unsolved level, burnout will explode. China began to explore this subject in recent years, because burnout has affected the work and life of our people.In this study, core variable is burnout. Burnout is a people serving situation, which people show an emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and low personal accomplishment syndrome. Burnout with a strict context of the definition, that is just for the areas of work. The specific indicator is lack of enthusiasm and motivation for the work, finishing the work with the mechanical repetition of past activities, can not fully serve as before. People with burnout regard their serving people as an inanimate object, showing chill and arrogant attitude to people, even denigrating language and behavior towards clients, and gain no value and progress in their own work. So burnout will affect individual’s performance. Now we introduce the second variable performance, to explore the relationship between them. To further prove factors which lead to burnout, we introduce a third variable, namely the influencing factor of burnout variable.University teachers will be our research object. We will collect the data of burnout, performance and the impact factor of burnout through a questionnaire. The data will be explored and analyzed by spssl6.0. We will focus on the relationship between burnout and performance of university teachers, as well as the impact factors of burnout, which will provide decision support for future research of college teachers’ burnout and performance.We will analyze the impact factors of burnout, performance and burnout by descriptive statistical analysis, and explore the difference of performance between different categorical variables and burnout by variance analysis, and analyze the relationship between burnout and performance, burnout influencing factors and burnout by regression analysis and correlation analysis.Specific conclusions are as follows:1. The differences of college teachers’burnout reach a significant level in gender and profession. The differences of depersonalization reach a significant level in the institutions category, job title and whether undertake administrative position. The differences of performance of university teacher reach a significant level in gender, title, type of Educational Institution and served as executive positions different latitudes of the performance differences reached the significant level; other demographic factors as categorical variables did not reach significant levels.2. The depersonalization dimension of burnout is negatively related to the research performance and relationship performance. Low personal accomplishment is positively related to the relationship performance, research performance, teaching performance and the overall performance.3. Low personal accomplishment of burnout has negative effects on the relationship performance, positive teaching performance, research performance and the whole performance. Burnout and depersonalization has positive effects on research performance.4. Each dimension of impact factor on burnout gain a high score except personal factors one. Other dimensions gain an average of2points or more.5. It is significant between the six dimensions of impact factor on burnout and three dimensions of burnout, which reach a different degree level. Other dimensions do not reach significant levels.6. Occupational factors, personal factors one and school factors three have positive effects on emotional exhaustion, and personal factors two has negative effects on emotional exhaustion. Personal factors one and occupational factors have positive effects on depersonalization, and personal factors two has negative effects on depersonalization. Personal factors two has positive effects on low personal accomplishment. Occupational factor and personal factors one have positive effects on burnout, and personal factors two has negative effects on burnout.The innovation of this paper is a collection of data about burnout and performance of University Teachers, and compares teachers’ burnout and performance differences with different demographic factors.We have proven the relationship between burnout and performance, what is more, we have known the specific impact factors on Burnout.The defects of this paper are:firstly, the samples are mainly from Dalian city, which have some limitations, and the amount of samples getting from each universitysize is relatively small.Secondly,when exploring the relationship between burnout and performance, we do not take other influences factor into consideration. Finally the burnout scale we used comes from Taiwan researcher who revised foreign scale, so the scale of data collection may occur some deviations.
