With the rapid development of Internet, computer and multimedia technology, the trend of using web-based multimedia instruction is getting more and more popular, and it has been promoting the change of traditional educational means. The new kind of teaching form by means of modern information technology such as multimedia technology, database technology, network technology, etc. has combined with the teaching of spoken English, and it has brought revolutionary changes to the creation, storage, learning means of the knowledge. The combination not only for English teachers brings forth a new field, but also provide expensive space for the students’ autonomic learning of English. The network information technology can stimulate the senior high school students’ interest in learning English. Meanwhile, it can create real situation and let the students learn English and use English in real imitated context of situation, feeling English in varieties of simulation games. The combination makes English teachers the best organizers, guides, researchers, developers and decision makers when they organize students’ learning activities, better showing the demand of the aim of spoken English teaching for senior high in the new curriculum standard.This topic is based on practical operation with theoretical research as an auxiliary, using the literature method, questionnaire method, experimental method and comparative law research.In the study the author found modern information technology applied in oral English teaching in high school has a lot of advantages and strengths, such as English teachers can obtain more abundant teaching resources through a large number of the application of CD ROM, all types of graphic or video software, watching educational television programs, foreign news, browse the Internet and other means, and the teacher will show students more English language with time characteristic features and a more colourful world, and greatly enrich the traditional English classroom teaching, transfer and give students more idiomatic English data. In the classroom teachers can easily display the students’ own life scenes, images, sounds and other effects on the large screen and guide the students to carry on creative situations of practice, which can make students learn the knowledge with generated strong interest in developing consciousness, motivation of learning, cultivating their autonomous learning ability to improve the learning efficiency and the quality of learning. The teacher can set the substitution exercise, the replacement exercise, audio-visual forecast practice, role performance, so that students in a funny scene of daily life are happy to learn the knowledge, easily solve difficulties. As a result, learning ability can be trained, and the effect of classroom teaching can be consolidated. In the course of the integration between information technology and oral English teaching, the author found that there exist problems which we need to continue to explore, such as some ideas about information technology and English curriculum integration are just conceptions and do not apply to the specific teaching practice; some integration points are only a form, and deviate from the original intention of spoken English teaching in the classroom teaching, which do not really play a role in the classroom teaching and so on. Those problems need to be studied and solved by educators one by one.
