Natural geography teaching in secondary school geography teaching hasimportant position, the natural geographical knowledge is scientific andcomprehensive in training students’ geographic literacy has a unique value, but insecondary school in practical teaching of natural geography teaching effect is bad, thestudents feel natural geography is difficult to learn, teachers feel natural geographicaldifficult to teach phenomenon is widespread, how to improve the natural geographyteaching has become a problem to be solved. Concept map as a kind of knowledgerepresentation tools, it in promoting the knowledge learning and improving teachingevaluation to improve the role of natural geography teaching situation has the vitalrole.From the development history of the concept map, this article analyses theapplication it to the theoretical basis of teaching, its production tools and productionsteps and so on several problems. Based on the analysis of concept map and naturalgeography teaching union the possibility and necessity, think concept map used innatural geography teaching can have the following function: to improve the naturalgeographical knowledge teaching evaluation, promote teachers improve their naturalgeographical knowledge professional attainment, to change the traditional geographylearning methods, and makes natural geography knowledge structural. At the sametime promoting natural geographical knowledge from the point of view of teachingand assessment, based on the classification of different standards, respectively, willconcept map into some concept map, section concept map, chapter concept map andtheme concept map or fills up the task-based concept map, judge task-based conceptmap, modify task-based concept map and the creation of task-based concept map, etc,and the different types of timing teaching concept maps are discussed. Based on thesecondary school geography knowledge framework required based on the naturalgeographical knowledge classification and geography angle of view(geographyideology), this paper probes into concept map in the specific application of naturalgeography teaching strategies.
