Teacher culture as a kind of cultural ecological environment which teacherprofessional development lives, its influence can’t not be ignored to teachers whopursue development in their profession. It deeply penetrates everywhere in teachers`daily work. It has an imperceptible influence on teacher beliefs, values and attitude ofteaching.Entering the1990s, scholars have come to realize the profound effect whichteacher culture on professional development, and tried to build a superior culturalenvironment which could effectively promote teacher professional development.Therefore, the researches concerned with teacher culture have begun to be prolific.This paper begins to study the form and content of teacher culture from therelationship among teachers. The form of teacher culture is teachers`work methodswhich showed when teachers resolve professional development problems in theirdaily work. The content of teacher culture has been internalized into teachers`culturaltendency. In the analysis of professional development, this paper has dividedprofessional development into three types of professional quality structure, and theyare professional knowledge, professional skills and professional spirit. This paperdivided cultural tendency into three types. Through the way of measuring teachers`work methods which teacher pursues the development in each latitude of professionalquality to achieve the goal of indirectly measuring the tendency of teacher culture.During the course of this study, this paper adopts questionnaire to measureteacher cultural tendency which teachers need in the process of pursuing thedevelopment in each latitude of professional structure. And then, structured interviewwhich carried out among teachers is used to explain the origin of these culturalcharacteristic and describe the vivid process of teacher culture influence professionaldevelopment. Based the above analysis, abstract the characteristic of teacher culturewhich suit professional development, and provide five point of feasiblerecommendations for establishing excellent cultural environment which could serveteacher professional development in the end of this paper.
