In the issues of teaching Lu Xun’s works, which are not only components but alsovaluable assets to the fine traditions and history of Chinese modern literature,comprehension and grasp by teachers and students of the thoughts and literature ofmodern China as well as experience and learning by them of masterpieces are involved,thus having direct impact on the overall performance of Chinese teaching in middleschool. For a long time, however, there have been problems that cannot be ignored inthis field. Based on references, this thesis, with the intention to explore a closer andmore suitable path for teaching and learning Lu Xun’s works, discusses the status quo,philosophies, methods and strategies of Lu Xun’s novels teaching in middle school,trying to offer reference to teaching in aspects such as novels, Lu Xun’s novels andmodern literature and contributes to making teaching and learning Lu Xun’s works aless difficult issue in middle school.This thesis can be divided into four parts.Firstly, by organizing the research literature, this thesis notes the existing problemsin the research on Lu Xun’s novels teaching in middle school and ascertains thecontents, significance and methods of study.Secondly, on the status quo of Lu Xun’s novels teaching in middle school, thisthesis discusses perceptual knowledge acquired mainly by interviewing teachers andstudents and rational knowledge on analysis basis, providing the foundation for furtherstudy on teaching philosophies, methods and strategies.Thirdly, this thesis discusses two teaching philosophies,“return to Lu Xun” and“connection with reality”, which are put forward on the basis of personal experienceand references.Last but not least, on methods and strategies of Lu Xun’s novels teaching in middleschool, this thesis, by probing into his two novels, raises the issue of adaptability ofinquiring teaching method and directive teaching strategy.
