| Mathematical understanding has become another main issue in the international mathematics education, being focus in the mathematics education research and practice after "problem solving". Exponential function as a high school stage to learn a basic elementary functions is an important branch of the function. Comprehensive survey domestic and foreign to exponential function understanding correlation research, mostly all is the heavy speculation but the light real diagnosis, the real diagnosis research lag develops to the curriculum relatively. Thus senior one students should grasp the depth of knowledge about the exponential function level of understanding and comprehension deficits under the premise of teaching and research emphasis on the exponential function.In this paper, the core concept of the exponential function, through self-questionnaire of Gansu Province, the three Senior Schools’277senior one students tested, and statistical software SPSS13.0, senior one students level of understanding the exponential function, and for major problems, given the teaching strategies to solve the problem. Through the analysis of these issues, research to guide teaching. And there are four main conclusions drawn in this paper:First, the level of students understanding(1)Senior one students have much better understanding of the nature of exponential function. The understanding of image is weak, and there is the phenomenon of polarization.(2)The male and female students have litter difference on understanding lever, and the male students are bit higher in the application of exponential function than that of female students.(3)On the understanding of concept, image and nature stages, the key schools are bit higher than other schools. The ordinary schools have bit lower understanding for the whole level.Second, the main problems of the students in understanding (1)Some students have a poor computing power in index of power;(2)Exponential function of conceptual understanding not in place;(3)Omitting the discussion about the exponential function base;(4)The understanding of image is vague.Three, the main factors affecting the understanding of the student about exponential function(1)The development of dialectical thinking of senior one students is still immature;(2)Teachers in the teaching process ignored the guidance of the concept.Four, the teaching strategies to promote the students’ level of understanding (1) Guide students to construct knowledge independently;(2)Create situations for students to accurately grasp the exponential function expression;(3) Great importance to the concept of teaching of exponential function and penetration of mathematical thinking;(4)Flexible use of mathematical thinking to guide students to explore the range of base A.Based on the conclusion of the research, the paper finally offers some specific relevant suggestions to teachers and some issues for further research. |
