Modernization isn’t a vacant and abstract concept. The author thinks thateducation modernization is an important dynamic force of politics, economy, societyand culture modernization. In order to deeply discuss the interactive relationshipbetween the education moderning and social development, the author choice YuganYuting middle school as core to study. From this, we can descry the importantmeaning between education modernization and local social development.The failureof the Opium War is not only the failure of military affairs and foreign relations, butalso the failure of china’s traditioncal talented person by contrast with westerncountries’new-style talented person. Therefore, developing new-style education andcultivating new-style talented person became the important way to make feeble chinachange into more powerful. Education also first undertake the sacred mission thatrich the nation, strong the military and save country. with the striking of Yang Wumovernment,Wei Xin movernment and the Late Qing dynasty’s new policy,traditioncal education fell into a decline, modern education produced. Among thelarge trend of starting school in the whole country, Yugan, the feudal historic ancientcounty, carried out education reformation consciously. Meanwhile, All kinds ofnew-style school brought about. Yuting private middle school, which was found in1923, rewrote Yugan’s history which has no middle education, widely expand Yuganyoung people’education level, cultivated lots of talented man and promoted Yugan’smodern education development. Its foundation has milestone sense in Yugan middleeducation history. Therefore, from the view of history and pedagogy to study thehistory of this school, it is very helpful for us to understand the interactiverelationship between the education modernization and local social development.Meanwhile, it is also of great significance to develop the modern education today.The author thinks Yuting middle school caused in the background of the starting ofchina education modernization in the Late Qing dynasty and the promoting ofthoughts that education can save country to Jiangxi education modernization; Itexperienced three stages: starting, developing and transforming. Yuting middleschool’s foundation promote Yugan’s education modernization and local socialeconomic development.
