Coincident with the further deepening of reforms and open-up, privatekindergartens, has been developed rapidly in recent years and become an integral partof preschool education in China. Private kindergartens keep on being built up in ruralareas, which make up for the lack of government’s investment in rural early childhoodeducation, meet the needs of the majority of peasant families, provide qualifiededucation resources for rural development, create more opportunities for the majorityof rural children in receiving their early education, and at the same time make a greatcontribution to the development of China’s pre-school education.The conflict of kindergarten curriculum is a very common problem in currentpre-school practice. And for private kindergartens in rural areas, the conflict ofcurriculum is much more complex, because of their special identity and nature. Thedesign and implementation of the kindergarten curriculum, which involved mainly theinterests of parents, teachers, kindergartens’ officials and the administrative ofeducation departments, is the core event deciding the destiny of a privatekindergarten.This thesis orients on qualitative research, and uses the case study method, andconducts field research on the situation of the practices of curriculum in Xingtankindergarten, which is located in Huikou town, Susong County, Anhui Province.Through the description and analysis of differences in the understanding of thekindergarten curriculum and curriculum practices (including curriculum leadership,curriculum implementation and evaluation), this thesis further analyze the symptomsof the conflict of the private kindergarten curriculum and the attitudes of the teachers,parents and the kindergartens’ official on the conflict, and the motivation, attitude andstrategy that the kindergartens in the center of the conflict compromise. In the last ofcase study, the author, through the reflection on the conflict of the kindergartencurriculum, discusses the measures to resolve these conflicts: the successful practiceof the private kindergarten curriculum needs the strong support of the educationauthorities, parents’ scientific and rational cooperation, and the love education of thekindergartens; all should spare no efforts for the healthy development of children.
