Primary school is the best time to cultivate extracurricular reading ofstudents, reading ability has the premise and basic effects on the improvement ofknowledge, clearance of the wisdom, pureness of heart, raising of emotion. Atpresent, Extracurricular reading ability especially the formation of which isweaker than other learning habits.This article target on Grade three pupils and teachers from nine schools ofYuexiu Distract, based on wide collect and analyse literatures to do a researchand interview teachers from seven aspects of reading interest, reading methods,reading skills, reading tactics, the result shows that: pupils have deep interest ofreading, their ways of getting the knowledge are right, they have clear learningaims, but there need to instruct children to choose right articles, need to helppupils master the correct methods of reading. What’s more, from analysing theresults of pupils’ personal elements, family elements, teachers elements, societyelements, we reach a conclusion that the ignorance of the extracurricular readingand bad formation of reading habits have the relationship with their ownelements, the value of parents and teacher and lack of guidance of government.Aims on the current situation, writer raises relevant tactics:1. fromchanging the concepts of government, teachers, parents and pupil, make thegovernment, society, parents and teachers concentrate on pupils’ extracurricularreading;2. detailedly introduce the reading skills which were asked to be required by the Curriculum Standards, emphasize that teachers carry out thepracticable reading skills in class is the only way to train the pupils’extracurricular reading skills. Not only have the effective guidance of teachingbut also grasp pupils the correct reading methods, extracurricular reading can betruly executed.3. Probe into how to cultivate pupils’ extracurricular readinghabits from reading time, reading methods and books chosen, supervise pupils’learning habits from book cards filling, composition booklets making andreading results sharing and so on.4. expound how to broaden the medium ofreading from environment, activities, family reading, to improve the readingability of children.This article includes four chapters. The first chapter expounds theimportance of extracurricular reading; the second chapter summaries the currentsituations of reading research external and internal. The third chapter analysesthe research of reading circumstances of Grade Three pupils Yuexiu Distract anddiscuss the reasons. The fourth chapter intensive studies how to train the pupilsto have extracurricular reading, finds out how to cultivate pupils’ extracurricularreading effectively according to the development characteristics of the GradeThree pupils.
