As international, social, interpersonal exchanges become more frequent and compact,more importance has been attached to oral communication.Since the basic educationreform,oral communication has been elevated to the equally important status as reading andwriting. But since oral communication has not formed a professional system, in theimplementation process,there are a lot of problems. Especially in the dialect area, spokencommunication has encounter with plenty of difficulties. In order to help junior middleschool students in dialect area learn spoken language more effectively, enhance theirspeaking ability and social interaction skills junior middle school language teaching researchin the Hakka dialect area. Having chosen the representitive pure Hakka area in Heyuan as thescope for research and through the methods of questionnaire, interviewing and archival, thispaper will elaborate on and three aspects. The first chapter is the theoretical overview,whichsets forth the research conditions of oral communication and dialects study at home andabroad.The third chapter is about the research on the status quo of junior middle schoolstudents’oral communication in Heyuan City Hakka area. Analyses of both teaching andlearning have found that four elements are in the way of nurturing oral communicationskills.They are dielactal differences,traditional views, teachers and students factor as well asthe curriculum setting. In the fourth chapter,to solve the problems mentioned above,strategiesandeffective ways to increase teaching efficiency have been raised. First,enhance theprofessional level of teaching.Second, improve teaching strategy in the dialect area; Third,cultivate middle school students’ oral communication skills by method of oral communicationassessment; fourth,nurturejunior students oral communicative competence in dialect areathrough various approaches.
