| In the UK, the organized teacher training began in the early nineteenth century. During more than two centuries, the British teachers training went through normal education era which is from the early1900s to the late1980s, and teacher education era which is from the1990s to the present.After the Second World War, the British normal education began to transit to teacher education. The process of the transition, the difference between before and after the transition, the causes and the characteristics of the transition are the focuses of research paper, and on the basis of this, deliberating the present teacher education reform in China.By using the documentary research to understand the transition history of the British teacher education, and forming a whole understanding of the history of teacher education in the UK.
