English teaching in junior middle school plays a significant role in the whole process of English education. However, there are still a large amount of English low achievers in junior middle school, and most of them are boys. It is a very serious problem in English teaching, because those boys who have a low achievement in English can learn other subjects as well as the others. These boys’failures in English can attribute to their low motivation in English learning. As the major way of teaching has been changed into students-centered from teachers-centered, students’English learning motivation has become one of the most influential factors of English learning. This paper aims at finding out the methods to foster English male low achievers’ English learning motivation by researching the questionnaires of English male low achievers’English leaning motivation.The research method of this paper is questionnaire method. By distributing the questionnaires to the English male low achievers in a junior middle school in Shenzhen and analyzing the data of these questionnaires, the characteristics of these students’ English learning motivation and the influential factors of English learning motivation is concluded. The data shows that English male low achievers’motivation are both low and extrinsic and there are some motivation influential factors like self-efficacy, self-worth, attribution and learned-helplessness. Questionnaire3shows the characteristics of those students’English learning interest.Through the analysis of English male low achievers’English learning motivation and many scholars’motivation theories, the author put forward several strategies to foster English male low achievers’English learning motivation:1. build up their confidence in English learning,2. change their self-worth,3. increase teachers’ immediacy,4. increase their English learning interest.
