The Research Of "Leftover Ladies" Under The Gender Perspective

In the modern society, women’s life and existence status have been a hot spotfor a long time.With the development of material and spiritual culture, Somewomen having " high income, high education and older single" come into view ofpeople, be known as the" leftover ladies". The emergence of "leftover ladies"shows that the woman began to have an independent attitude in societysubjectively,and means a challenge to traditional social norms objectively, whichhas subversion to the traditional code of ethics about "women are inferior to men".Therefore, in the construction of "leftover ladies", according to the hegemonyof male, this simple word evolved into a word with moral nature of attack, whichdescribed women as alien. Male imposed derogatory nature descriptive labels to"leftover ladies", so that they could create a male-dominated atmospheredeliberately. It attempted to conceal inferiority when male faced elite female andmaintain a sense of superiority under the traditional strength.This paper is based on Bourdieu’s theory of symbolic violence and Sex ruletheory, which analyzes the reason and present situation of "leftover ladies". Itattempts to discuss "leftover ladies" from the angle of male domination.Meanwhile, combining with case analysis, it intends to lift the demonizingoverestimate to "leftover ladies" from male and establish renown of "leftoverladies", in order to awaken the consciousness of women and seek for bisexualequality.
