Chinese professional degree education has developed rapidly in recent years. With theexpansion of enrollment in professional degree education, how to ensure and improve itsteaching quality has become an important and urgent problem. As an importantinstrument to evaluate teaching quality in universities, students’ rating of teaching is alsowidely used to evaluate the teaching quality in professional degree education. However,the students’ rating of teaching index systems, which are used in professional degreeeducation currently, are similar with index systems in academic degree education,ignoring its own characteristics in cultivation object, teaching mode, teaching contentand method, etc.This paper studies students’ rating of teaching index system in professional degreeeducation in this context. As a based on case study, the paper adopts research methods ofliterature review, observation, questionnaire and interview, and combines withconstructivist theory, Gagne’s nine events of instruction, Keller’s motivation theory,humanistic theory and service quality of higher education, the purpose of which is todesign a set of students’rating of teaching index system.Firstly, in order to understand the status quo of students’ rating teaching index system inA colleges’ MBA, the author interviews teachers, students and MBA office staff, andanalyses the evaluation data of recent years. And then through questionnaire, the authordesigns the students’ rating of teaching index, which is also base on the merits ofteaching evaluation index from several famous universities home and abroad.Subsequently, a number of teachers and MBA management staff are involved in aninterview, according to which the indexes are modified. The first-level index has fiveaspects: instructional attitudes, instructional content, instructional methods, instructors’ability and learning effects, and each first-level index contains a certain number ofsecond-level indexes which are described with the behavior of teaching and learning.Besides, there are two overall evaluation indexes, which are useful for teachers andmanagement staff to know the overall teaching quality. When the new index system isused in practice, the result shows the index is independent, differential, and has goodconstruct validity. Finally, based on the actual needs of A college MBA, the author makethe front-end design of an online teaching evaluation system, including the design ofsystem frame and functional modules.
