In recent years, natural disasters, security incidents, public health events of all kinds of unexpected events occur frequently, various social risks and instabilities highlighted, and they makes many negative effects on China’s economic development, social stability and people’s normal life. These mass incidents, which highlight the social contradictions, in terms of colleges and universities, can be seen as sudden events, but if not handled properly, will easy to trigger students’group behavior. Therefore, this study explores impact mechanism of the political trust on the behavioral tendencies of college students’participation in emergencies, in order to inhibit or reduce the occurrence of mass incidents, to provide theoretical guidance for the protection of campus security and stability.The College Students Political Trust Scale is developed by interview method, open questionnaire method as well as psychological expertise. From the first survey500college students took part in, the result of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the three factor model of political trust is acceptable. And the scale has good reliability and validity. According to confirmatory factor analysis, the four factor model of Participation Behavior Tendency in Emergency Events Scale was well satisfied. The research investigated821college students with the College Students Political Trust Scale and the Participation Behavior Tendency in Emergency Events Scale, and the results shows that:1. The college students’political trust is at a high level. The Value Approval level is highest, followed by governance capability, attitude Approval is the lowest.2. There are significant differences of political trust in gender, grade, subject, parents’political landscape and student cadre experience, but not in individual political landscape.3. There are significant differences of participation behavior tendency in emergency events in gender, grade, parents’political landscape and student cadre experience,but not in individual political landscape and subject.4. Political Trust and the four dimensions are positive related with the individual positive behavior tendency and social positive behavior tendency, but negative related with negative behavior tendency and social negative behavior tendency in emergency events.5. According to the hierarchical regression analysis, part of the demographical variables significantly predicted the participation behavior tendency in emergency events. The junior students have remarkable behavior tendency of individual negative and social negative. The students whose parents are Chinese Communist Party members have higher social positive behavior tendency than the ones’that are not. Male students have significant higher social negative behavior tendency than female students’.6. Students’political trust level is significant predicted their participation behavior tendency in emergency events. Political trust level can not predicted individual positive behavior tendency when demographic variables are controlled. Value Approval negative predicts the individual negative behavior tendency. Political achievements Approval positive predicts social positive behavior tendency, governance capability and attitude Approval negative predicts social negative behavior tendency.Based on empirical research, this study proposes that University administrators should correctly understand impacts of the political trust on the behavioral tendencies of college students’participations in emergencies, the government should strengthen to carry forward the spirit of traditional Chinese culture, adhere to the socialist market economy, continue to promote system reform, promote system innovations, and strengthen the team building for officials, make use of the mainstream media, enhance the transparency of information; Schools should strengthen ideological and political education, improve the effectiveness of education in various forms, strengthen exemplary roles of the student leaders and student party members, establish emergency plan, improve college’s psychological health education system, strengthen the psychological counseling of special populations, maintain the stabilities of colleges and universities comprehensively.
